Hello,

Timing mark at tdc,

No 1 piston at top of travel

Rotor arm pointing to Nr 1 plug lead going to nr 1 plug.

Costs nothing to check. :roll:

unfortunately i am nowhere near Gloucester. the petrol was bought the day we tried to start the engine

thanks to everybody for your responses :ok . we are back in the garage on Monday when we will attempt to fire her up again

will report back Monday night :D

unfortunately the starter has now croaked and I am waiting for my unit to be re-furbed :cry:

you can turn it by hand to get the piston in the right place

hoo ray!!! the engine has fired up. it was ann electrical fault on the king leads. gave up after 12 hours of trying to start her ended up paying someone to look at it. thanks to everybody for their comments :ok shouldn't be long before i'm back on the road
