I would take care if you plan to go to this site during more popular times of year - we stopped by there to buy a gas bottle in late August. In the 5 minutes that hubby was in the shop I must have seen every sight you could imagine - snot nosed kids, young teenagers dressed in wholly inappropriate clothing, fat blokes in football shirts carrying a can of beer (in the morning), accessory 'staffies' with studded collars etc. - needless to say we left very rapidly!!!

weve just booked a mini lakes tour. two nights at wasdale and then two at great langdale NT sites. 2 kids 12 and 5. sounds like some of you go to the lakes regularly so any recommendations or 'must see/do' ?? we will likely take the van out a day or two as well as fairly gentle walks from the site.

Thanks for all the suggestions, we didn't end up going to the lakes after all. We ended up in the Dales (Dalesbridge site), Not far from Austwick, nice pub. Walked Pen - y - ghent & Ingleborough etc... (yes it was a long time ago now).
We have booked to go to Waterfoot park in Ullswater at the end of June for a few days - looking forward to that one.
We stayed in York most recently, there was a T2 Bay parked near us with a viking looking pop top. Looked quite tidy, but not as comfy or as cosy as Bob!(my Mosaik(ish) Joker(ish) T25).
