Smart glass would be great but it'll be worth 10 times more than anything left in the van. :rollin
Maybe if I win the lottery this week.

I bought silver (mirror) tint for the rear doors of my white van & then I later bought limo tint. I still haven't fitted either.

I use black nylon mesh in mine. Gives me limo tint when I want it, and can be removed when not needed. Same idea as net curtains in the home.

Net curtains, AKA 'Mind your own business curtains'. :)

We have some black mesh anti UV screens in our everyday use car ( a Zafira) they were made to measure and come with a storage bag. Proper quality item that just clips in place and dead easy to take out. They were made by VanStyle, I'm not sure if they do T3 but they might if asked.
Price wise they were equal to a set of precut tints, obviously more expensive than DIY tints but oh so much easier to fit and remove if required. Used em for 2 years now and they don't alf keep the sun out of the interior, good thing is you can open windows and they double up as mozzy nets as well. Might be worth exploring....in fact I have just about talked meself into it. I'll make some enquiries.

I was going to do a double tint on mine, dark blue first followed by a blue tint mirror... I need to practice getting all the bubbles out and the glass scrupulously clean first though.

I paid a tenner at our local Rag Market for enough mesh to do the whole vehicle. Quickly knocked up on the sewing machine and held in place by short lengths of that spine binding stuff used in offices for reports, tucked behind the rubber seals.
Jobs a good 'un. :ok

Now there's an idea - I've got a supplier desperate for me to sample his stick on film alternative to proper 'smart glass'; wonder if by sample he means enough to do my van??? :D

I have put a dark tint on the rear windows of my defender, only one problem.
Because the rear window is dead upright, in the dark, with nothing behind you you can give yourself a hell of a scare when you look in the mirror and the car that is actually coming towards you appears, in the mirror, as if it's going to drive up your backside at about 70mph because it's lights are reflected in the back window! It's OK once you get used to it.

I have just taken delivery of some 99% black film, which I will be trying out in the near future !
Current have 95% ( limo black) which is good, stops the uv getting to the upholstery and interior as well as stopping the need for using the blinds in the daytime when the camper facilities are in use

Black every time, had 95% on my old campers ,buy good stuff , iirc on the general lee the rear tint faded after a year , not much but enough for me to notice.
Silver reminds me of the guy who delivers fish around here :run

I was going to try some on my plastic double glazed westy windows ... anyone tried or done this ? :?:

Bit of a thread resurrection.

I had some blue tint on my plastic windows, not done very well so I removed it, the problem I have now is the sticky residue left behind. I know on glass you can use a good quality solvent to clean it off but using that on plastic???!!!
I haven't attempted that yet, I'm waiting until I take the windows out before I try.

Just to let you know if it doesn't go on right the first time you may have that problem.
