Once everything was insulated and the interior panels back on, I started to refit/rebuild the side units. As you can see since I don't have a drive or garage, just communal off street parking and a small yard 25m away everything had to live in the van whilst I worked.


The rearmost unit was fitted with a consumer unit for the hookup to provide a bit more safety than the cable direct to twin plug socket previously installed!

And here we go:
All the units back in, laminate flooring back down.

The pipes you see under the cooker are for the sink, the blue one has a whale pump on the end and was threaded though to the tap and a clean water container stowed here. The black pipe was a waste pipe from the sink to a hole in the van floor. As I'd moved the sing back it was not long enough to refit so a quick trip to the local plumbers merchant and I had a nice new washing machine waste flexi pipe fitted in its place- still exiting through the floor as I prefer my waste containers outside the van.

With the interior essentially done (save for cupboard doors) I set about fixing the new tailgate:
Some rust treated, painted and stuffed with insulation.


Given its weight I enlisted the help of my friend Tim, who is also 6'+ with the theory that we would hold the tailgate in place whilst our girlfriends did the appropriate spanner work. It proved impossible to budge the hinge blocks from the van as directed by haynes, so we undid them from the tailgates instead which worked a charm. Removing the gas struts proved more difficult, removing the clips/pins was easy but the cups were so full of crud it took some not so gentle hammer work to persuade them to let go of the balls on the gate. We cleaned them with a ton of carb spray then oiled before refitting.

And he she is, all packed up ready for our holiday. I didn't have time to fit cupboard doors, or match the RnR bed to the rest of the van, but she was functional:
