I heard it came in through the dash heater vents!!

If you have a look in the at the coney farm pics and videos you'll see Neil's doka being drained after becoming stuck. Don't stand near the exhaust when an engine has been drowned and it is started up!!

I've had water coming through the cab door seal, over the battery box and into the rear of the van.

I've no idea yet to be honest I just wanted to know the capabilities more than anything.

I've got a few places I would like to visit but the depth of water is probably no more than bumper level.

Don't chandleries do a hull mounted Eberspaecher exhaust?

Thought it may have had some mechanism to stop water going back up, seemingly it doesn't.

I'll shut up.

Cheers stan, I just about found that one last night. I like it alot.

I'm just waiting for the insurance payout now to top up my funds, I've got one week till I go to Canada for nearly two months. I think if I get it I will have just enough time to pick it up

There's quite a few in Canada as well. Could be worth looking out there?

I doubt I'd be able to get them back without using a shipping company.

Insurance should be sorted by the end of the week so some extra cash to spend which means I might be able to get the van I want

o.k. what about the vents which are supposed to be in the floor underneath the gas bottle?
the westy i stripped for my interior had quite a big hole in the floor beneath the gas bottle. i havent yet had the heart to cut one out for mine particularly with wading in mind. you would get water in under the floor where presumably it could sit indefinitely and merrily rot the van without you knowing till its too late or you take the insides out.
what does everyone do? i would rather have one for peace of mind.
i did consider something like the drain of the westy water tank sticking through the floor which i could just screw the cap on if i thought i might be wading.

If you actually fit a proper gas drop out, and not just drill a hole and cover with mesh. You should then be able to buy a pipe bung to fit when you wade. Something like this http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listin ... 0323355-21" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
You can get them in all different sizes

Not all westies have them, mine doesn't but my old one did, I think its a mod for when using a bottle inside, as mine has an underslung tank there's no holes.
Rob.

Your right the bin has shut but been reopened under another name :ok

The female mayor has gone meaning "gentlemens" clubs are back open. Hopefully I can stay away from town do some serious saving and spend it on the next van.

Saying that money from the old van should be here by Tuesday :ok
