Not that I would want one,
but if anyone is desperate, I know where theres a good rust free, right hand drive WBX6...
Caravelle, in white, with AC and all the extras, long range tank, spare wheel carrier etc

What and make it worse? Japanese parts redundancy, don't get me started...
It's got a raised hatch so best to make use of it, like with a nice Audi V6: torquey, flexible, no ground clearance aggro and you know you can get the spares with part numbers you recognize.
Sell the Oetti off to someone who can live with the sleepless nights and/or needs a spare engine and you're quids in.
The best thing I have found with a Subaru conversion is that you can change the clutch slave in an hour inc. bleeding out. Not exactly a selling point...

Now ya tell me!!
I hear what you say, especially the sump problem, but what about low down light-weight. Ain't these V6/V8 things just top heavy, heavy things?

The Audi V6's are 90 degree so lower COG than VR6 and (I think the later ones) are alloy blocked so not too hefty.
They seem to be popular in SA...
OK so an EJ25 makes around 180 bhp with decent torque, even my little 2.2 will light up one 255/45 rear tyre if I pull out of a junction in a hurry. That's in the dry.
But they are not indestructible and the EMS is fussy. Doing the cam belt on a 2.5 is an awful job too.
It's just my take on them, based on what I've got and engine's we've had in the workshop.

I went subaru because I like the sound & the idea of keeping it Flat4 & keeping the 50/50 weight layout.
My sumo is having heads gaskets & belt changed as we speak (£570, so much for good price!

) although to be fair. I got the Subaru to my house for £750 & a days driving. I've sold bits off Legacy for about £650, weighed in chassis for £82. Plan is, if I like the way it drives/sounds/performs to keep an eye out for another & have it sat here if it all goes pop, bang, crash!

I meant in the case of that big window SA mentioneld by the OP. It will have the standard raised hatch for the 5-pot inlet manifold and dizzy.
In a regular syncro the body lift probably isn't enough to get a V6 under the hatch, but I could be wrong.
