Well.. I bought a new trailer, thats not one of them silly halfords things, for under 400 quid...
it doesnt have brakes though, 750kg, fully galvanised.. 13" wheels, tows great even at 130kmh (perfectly legal in France)

dave is right, (practice) i drive artics and can reverse in accurately in just about anything really. anyway 500kg, you could unhitch and walk it in place.. its not really about the length of it, but where the wheels are positioned, either way it aint a problem. build it !! is it for your generator ????? ps towsure have a large store in long lane, halesowen.

I want to carry an outboard engine, large canvass tent, spare battery, gas.....bits and bobs, reckon it adds up to approx. 200kg

i looked in the bargain pages for one today, i reckon £150 will get you a top quality used one whereas just the indespension units would cost that alone brand new.

Made my own car transporter yonks ago. I did mainly MINIS at the time, so I used Mini rear suspension. If you can get hold of a rusty rear sub frame with wheels ,you will have all you require. Work out how it all works, strip it down ,save the bits you need and scrap the rusty sub frame. Before you all start about weight I made a 4 wheel jobe as a transporter
