Obviously then they didnt remove the window, or cracked it removing it and then didnt cover/remove the interior.
and they sent it back like that without any warning to you.
How far out are the repairs, didnt you say they were making it by hand?

Yeah the window was taken out and I guess it was cracked during install. Just been out to the van now (in the heavy rain) and I can't see that it leaks at the crack. i spent hours looking last night for a replacement to no joy so as the crack is very small i'm thinking of living with it as it matches the others. As for the repairs, the weld was good and he made it by hand. It's only the sitting of the cover plate that's the issue. He's going to have another look at it next week to get it into align. Looking out the house window all in all the job looks good and will look good when we have done the Rustoleum paint job. Until that though, he has his work cut out for him and I have to play it cool!!

Thats always the problem with getting bodywork done... some people have very low expectations of quality.
Like the previous owner of my van...he thought that an acceptable way to deal with rust holes was to plaster fibreglass on top of the rust!

Ok got the van back and now pleased with the work that he has done. It does look really good and smooth! Unfortunetly the poor bugger spent a good few hours doing the work for free to rectify that bad work that he had done in the first place. Maybe a very hard lesson to learn, but one that will put him in a better position later? Hope so.
Anyways here is the work and she is now ready for us to do some work on her in prep for the roller jobbie!

ok started the rust work myself today. I started on the front and was surprised by the amount of work involved!

Rain stopping play today but the postie just turned up with the 'Paint your Wagon for Fifty Pounds' DVD!!! Perfect wet weather viewing.

After that may take the fridge out and leave up side down for a few hours.

Coming along mate, glad you stuck to your guns and got that repair panel as you wanted/should be. I have some rust that needs tackling, mainly the front panel, its holed in a few places, but bumper iron solid with surface only rust. Will try and find a suitable donor body cut, but if not, will get new metal, or new panel.

Yeah you gotto stick to your guns with stuff like this. I'm thinking that if a very decent rate per hour is being charged then I want it a done well! You are only as good as your last piece of work in my view . As for the rust - always think of icebergs - you only see some of it!

As for the van, rain has stopped play every moment I am not at work. Today it started raining at 5pm!! ARGH!!! I am about to order the paint and have decided on ral 2000 orange (like lamapups) and ral 9010 white on top. Bold or what!
