aye mid to high 20s.

my y plater was a cu too.

fitting those carbs was the single best thing i ever did.

having had solex rebuilt and jetted up on a rolling road i had 37 bhp at the wheels.

fitting dells gave me 57.

awesome difference.

Welcome to the world of T25 onwnership. You will also find a patch of oil under the van thats so you know wear you have parked.

type 4 inlet manifolds to fit, without having to modify the engine lid.

Also would you know how much they cost?

bank on an hour or so on the rollers to get it jetted properly.

kit is

short inlets csp, these need bossing for a vaccume barb for the servo

short inch and a quarter air filters

dellorto drla 36mm or 40mm carbs

new csp throttle linkage

Well I have two pairs, but they're not for sale.

erm...nope nothing springs to mind, I just can't think where you buy second hand items these days, especially Dellorto DRLA 36 .
maybe there's some thing on the internet, I use google...

Is it the general consensus that is would'nt be worth trying to salvage the original solexs and the money would be better put towards dellortos? What about the after market cb performance solexs?

I've put 36's on my old van as well as ICT's and agree 36's much better for the van, worth investing in the dellorto carb book which should be cheap on the bay of fleas, if u buying S/H ones check thy have rigt size chokes. From memory i think the ones you need are 28's for torque and easy running but there's loads of threads around on these carbs. Good luck. Eurocarb in rwading are very good for any bits you need and advice as I recall.

The fact that you are effectively giving a carburettor to each cylinder speaks volumes for the resulting extra performance of the engine.
I have never heard of any one raving about Solexs' here.
