Just an update to say that the topcoat is on and has been for a week now, just hoping for some heat to cure the paint job quickly and allow me to start cutting back. Also I thought that I'd done a pretty good job on the damaged sliding door..with the lovely gloss paint I've been found out.... dings and more dings. Still it will give me some thing to do next Spring/Summer. Waiting on getting some pennies together to buy the carpet-lining and led lighting I wonder if I could register as a charity and get Lottery funding.

I've bought the led deck lighting now, I've gone for the blue tint, and also ordered the carpeting from Megavanmats also Dark Blue I'm really unhappy with the finish around my windows and Ithink that I'm going to remove the glass and do the job properly as I should have done in the first place. I was too keen to get Doris back on the road. I just hope that the guy letting me share his lock-up is still agreeable. I've tried to find some guides to doing the removal but nothing absolute turns up in the search, it's probobaly down to me as I'm sure that I've seen or read some threads on this. Anyone got a steer for me? Rob

On factory windows not sure about yours. Use plastic bicycle tyres levers. From the inside, tuck the edge of the rubber under the metal lip. Work around and then push the window out.

[/img].. Another update to give an idea of the glass-fibre mouldings I'd been going on about. When my bus had been stripped all fixings had been lost so it's proved to be a royal pain to re-fix these. Rob

I've started flatting back the topcoat finally and I have to say it's lovely so far. Only a third of the way round but I've come across two small runs, but I think that I'm ahead of the game. Rob

Well done Rob, did you manage any adventures? Any pictures of the finished van? Here is a shot of mine on a recent trip around Normandy and Brittany, a total of 962 miles!!
