If you find a van and are worried about the mechanical side of things you could ask Barry Hews on Pottington to go have a look around it with you.
He has to be the best mechanic i know ( i live in horsham and i still get my seat serviced by him ) second to none on vw/ audi in my opinion (will be taking my van down soon for a good health check)
My other advise would be to look for vans further in land cause the ones i've seen down there seem to be plagued with rusty seams.
Ps. You also have the guys at syncro nuts? in South Molton they may know of a few vans that are in ok condition when your ready to buy.

Oh yea totaly agree, Barry Hews is excellent, I've had work done by him before on my car.I only live 5 mins away from his garage and 15 mins away from south molton.
Also just across the road from Barry's is P & R fabrication. They're engineers and steel fabricators they're excellent at one off pieces if needed. and welding.
A little concerned that you live in west sussex and you know more about my area than I do!?
This is great, being a motorbike rider aswell, I post on biker forums and they're not half as friendly as you guys.
Sorry Taw cottage, How do i do that? The post seems to have moved on slightly hasn't it.
Thanks again, It all seems to be a little less daunting as I Learn more :D
