The pub on the main road (if you can call it that) does the best steak with blue cheese butter I have ever had.
That's my local that is
I live about 10 houses down on that "main road" (apart from 6 weeks in the summer)

Very nice round there. The other pub is a bit poncy though.
When you live in such a great place where on earth do you go for holiday?

off round France at the end of next week, I rent my house out for july/August,(along with half of Croyde/Georgeham !) it pays the mortgage and leaves enough for a bit of touring about

so Southern France in July and not sure where yet in August.

ooooh please can I get PM on wild camping around Braunton too please please please?
I've stayed at Surfers (attached to Ruda) and it's a great location, just as exxy as all the other sites in the area (Bay View, Cherry Tree etc) tho. They charge £15 pp/pn and £5 for the vehicle. It's basic and can be noisy in the main field BUT they're not bothered about minimum bookings ie: 5 nights or more etc.
Last year I went on spec and only paid £15 pn as the girl checking me in didn't charge for my 4yr old and forgot to charge parking fees.
Planning to do the same this year - going this Sunday.
If it doesn't work out have got a couple of cheaper sites on the agenda near Woolacombe and Bideford; Little Road Way, north Morte Farm and Stoke Barton.
If anyone's got any wild camping sweet spots around Durdle Door would very much appreciate it too.
Thanks
Sarah

I really like Dennis Cove in Padstow (some don't) as it's within car free staggering distance from the pubs
