Schofields rubbers with inserts were £18.00 two years ago to my knowledge. And I've just had an almighty struggle fitting four conversion windows using their products this weekend ( with good sound advice by metalmick8y; thanks for answering my plea for help ).

Looking at Seals Direct web page I realise the buggers at Schofields had supplied me with WR64 (5mm gap both sides) equivalents. I had no idea seals came in different groove width? So now I know why the rubbers would not stay on the bodywork without twisting back or out as soon as pressure was applied. So I cut and used small blocks of wood between inner and outer hole to hold seal in place. Shame I got this technique going after spending two hours cursing the first window...which I glued to hold in place.....a BIG mistake; glue damages paint work and seals need to "float or slide" in soapy water to get naturally centralised .

Getting the seal to stay in place....

Adding bead left, top and right stops seal from collapsing inwards. Note blocks of wood pushed between inner frame and back of seal to prevent movement......

Wait for bead to settle before cutting to correct size...

Improvised tool for sliding between glass and seal. Also used was a dinner knife with the blade bent to 90 degrees....

Corners protected again damage during fitting. Use plenty of soapy water to remove tape. This paint is just a week new old. :?

My fingers are so bleedin' sore from this malarky.
