... sorry for the delay, had a bit of a holiday away in the Gambia, but progress has been great while weve been away - thanks to Mr Harwood...
Body work is all finished, primed and the two colour (White and Savanna Beige) top coats are now on - Ive decided to go with splitting the colour from half way down the headlight grill - think this looks much neater than using the insets along the sides in my opnion... final polishing is due end of this week & LPG system fitted too, MOT'd early next week and back to me to fit the interior (probably with Doug's help more like ha-ha!) hopefully by the end of next week... esciting times hoo-hoo!

more exciting progress...
LPG tank is in, just plumbing and mechanicals to do...
rear has been finished including black inset around lights...
offside is near completion, the slider covers sit a million times better than they ever did...
the standard of finish is outstanding... glass-like indeed, well done Mr Harwood!
from the front with most of the trim back on... swoon!
the man himself at work... take a bow Mr H!!!
not too much more to do now, windows and new seals to go in, complete the LPG system and then off for an MoT. Then back to me to install my interior.

that interior is the dogs danglies mate - love it.
I notice in the original pics, you had a water 'tank' under the sink, but from what I can gather from your new interior the gas bottle is going to live there, so where are you going to put your water supply??

thanks mate, there is still enough room for both our water tank and gas bottle in the new cupboard. We are however going to fit a proper exterior (under chassis) water tank next year so it will free up more room in that cupboard.

She's back and finished and beautiful - direct from the Dougs VW Werks...
please excuse the pants pics... the pics here really do not do the final finish justice, We are absolutely over the moon with the final look, the colours work perfectly and Doug has achieved a stunning finish to the paint.
It was dark when I took these pics and it seems to have been wet and grey ever since, once the ol girl is finished Doug at the Werks has organised a Photoshoot for me so we can really show her off...
OK, the interior work starts... for the rear area my starting point - a blank canvas...
So far I have laid wires for everything I can think of, including the new electrics for the tailgate (wash wipe and heated screen), main and leisure battery now properly wired into the Zig unit, extra cables for 12v and 240v power and new interior lights, along with the lines for the fridge, water pump and hob. Still to do is to sort out the DVD/TV setup, I will be connecting this upto the main stereo and also want to add a power switch for the stereo to enable me to switch it between the leisure and car battery.
As Im replacing both the heater blower and wiper motor I decided it would be proper to take the dash out, tidy up the loom and clean where I can... 20 odd years of dust behind here was not pleasant I can assure you!!!
with the dash out...
and after an investment in an impact driver the plastic unit finally was out...
New heater blower fitted... no dramas there...
a good t-cut and polish behind on the bulkhead, not too much corrosion and certainly nothing to worry about...
All back together and a further final clean...
Next step is to install the new wiper motor and then get the dash back on, I have resprayed this in satin black and it looks the dogs, the instrument pod has been polished too, looking forward to seeing it all back together, just hope everything works once I put it all back toogether
