I have only just worked out how to upload a photo. I have a photo of the pump, but not had chance to photo the engine or manifold. I have been away in the van and had a wheel bearing failure, but that's another story.
Any ideas if this is the correct pump?

Sorry mate - going to have to give me a bit more of a clue. Thats a tad close up for me. Maybe someone else can help...
Also, one of the engine and the manifolds would be useful..

Thanks Ringo,
its the only photo I had lying around. I will try to get the camera out tomorrow morning before I take it for the dreaded MOT.

I finally managed to get some pictures of the engine and the inlet manifold
I hope these are clear enough

It doesn't look look like a CS, you really need to get a cover on that cam belt.

That's how I got it, I will definitely have to get a cover its a bit dangerous like that. Not sure why the previous owner painted it blue either. I think he had a boat and had some spare engine paint.

Still no closer to identifying the engine. Can anyone point me to any pictures of known engines which might help?

Thanks, It must be a 1Y then, and I assume its the correct pump as well. It doesen't seem to have the power l as it should so that will be the next thing to investigate. I will take it to someone who knows about diesels; it may just need to be adjusted and set-up correctly. However it does run very smoothly and starts on the the first turn of the key, even after it had been left a month when we had all that snow.
