sells the closest that I have seen.

I bought one for the princely sum of £12.40 today to check them out.
The handle and base are smoooothed out, a little slimmer/smaller but the locating holes are identical, the square rod the same size - just needs threading and cutting to your required length, probably what Vindic did.
2 keys, they will rekey all 3 to the one key if you like - like ? - a must !
They were unsure re. mail order but I could collect for you, perhaps post, meet at a meet or 80-90 courier service or summat.
Catch you later.
A bugger to put the pictures on and then they are always small ??!

Even the links show small pics, muchos only allows small pics to be uploaded ? What to do ?
Oooh thanks missusjen

They look perfect Mick. For that price and keyed to the same key it seems like a must!

Mick - that's just what I want as I have no reply from Vindic at the moment. If you are happy to act as the 'retailer' I would like to order three (the ones on the right in the photo) with the same key. It would be just perfect if they would thread them and supply a nut (at extra charge of course), but if they are unwilling to do this I'll take them as is. I can pay you upfront by cheque or bank transfer and include cover for postage. Let me know if that's too much trouble and I will deal with them directly. Please PM me if you want to continue this transaction off the board.
Thanks!
Steffan

Hi. just hang on. I want to get this one threaded and fitted - prob by this weekend and I'll get back to you. My rear door is ready to fit tomorrow and I'll fit the new handle, take some pics.
Reckon that I'll change the other 2 later.
H.Harold had 14 in stock-they are locksmiths and will not thread the rods.
My email is in my profile

Later -
To be honest, it was easier to break the rod out of the old handle to re-use.

It's almost a perfect fit in the new handle, shave the top and trim the corners so the holes aligne as nicely as the new rod it replaces.

My picture doesn't do it justice.

Well chaps, if locksmiths can't even thread a rod these days, a £5ver on Ebay will get you a set of cheap carbon steel taps & dies, and if it's a square rod, to some extent, easier than a round one. Just have to choose the right thread!
Need more bits for the Vindic hard-top and Doka

Hi Folks, I'm on the hunt for parts:-
my Vindic hard-top has rusty hinges (rear door only):-
Need another battery cover for the driver's seat (LHD):-
and lastly I think there is a step that supposed to go here on the taildrop...

.
Also anybody got any truck mirrors in good shape they want to sell?
Cheers
Steffan

Hi Steffan.
Ring Owen 07802 378377.
Those hinges are different to mine. Mine are hung from the underside of the hood.

Perhaps Cate can comment on hers.

Just found these Tristar pics with a hood like ours, rear hinges more like yours.

As said, ring Owen.

Steffan, the hinges you show are the same as mine, how can I help?
If anyone has a couple of spare rods that are used to close the lids I would be grateful.....

Wow - nice red Tristar!!!!!
Cate - thanks for the offer, as per Mick's suggestion I will be calling Owen when I am back in the UK - unless you know where I can get some replacement hinges.
Failing that I'll be taking them off and Hammeriting them.
I have a missing rod on the rear door too, but so far it closes fairly securely without it. Again - if you find a source let me know and I'll do likewise.
Thanks
Steffan
