I know that this is a good idea cuz I did some sketches a while back based on the same idea!!

Got to be carefull with the loading, Mike Ghia added a Hi lift jack, this caused the side if the van to crack around the mountings after severe off-roading!

That surprises me Stan, I have three bikes on mine and open and shut it to get the tail gate open and its fine. Not while off roading but it was fine on a drive to Spain and back.

As long as the weight is as close to the hinges as possible it should be OK. A 20l can of fuel and a hi lift should be alright if positioned carefully

Not a bad price until you add on all the import duties and shipping from Canada. If this was happening in the UK I'd be interested.

Should have bought a pair or Ortecs lads as modular as you want

Have you got a pic of the three bikes on the wheel carrier? As i'm in the process of working out how to fit mine on. Have got a rack to modify, but if there is an easier way...............

That isnt a modular system .... a modular system is a series of carrying devices, interchangeable and located off the same hinge points

I have a bike carrier that clips onto the tow ball ans carries 2 bikes but a 3 bike is available. It has its own lighting system and folds down out of the way if you need to get into the back for anything. Bought it at Syncro 25

Question peps, relating to the spare wheel in a Syncro. As default on the 14" Caravelle Syncro, and others I guess, the spare wheel was located in the read to the left of the engine lid.

Now the question. What fixing were used by Volkswagen to brace, and secure the spare wheel in place.?

The reason I ask, is because when I purchased my Syncro, the spare wheel was fitted due to a flat tyre on one of the alloys.

I have the T Piece screw in thing that holds the spare, but was was originally behind the spare wheel? I found two sprayed black blocks of wood which I removed thinking they were no OE. If they were OE, I have to keep my fingers crossed that my father in law has not used them as fire wood lol.

I also have the wheel vinyl cover luckily.

Damn it, I'm a complete muppet, I threw away the blocks of wood highlighted by yellow in the below photo. Just about to head to to our summer house to see if they are still there, and not been used on the Sauna fire.!
