Indeed, The Present Mrs Hulley (God Bless Her !) hails from Holmesfield ... a mile or so from 'Legoland' where you were
Say's she remembers a Sarah Beresford at Gosforth school Jack left in '83 (family were forcibly moved away from't border so they couldn't scare the poor dee dars)

the top..and i mean the very top of Sir William Hill at grindleford is a nice spot to wake up at.havnt been for years and years but remember it well..woke up in a cloud one morning

Yep, used to be lovely up there between Leam and the top of Bretton sadly now overrun with off roaders up there.

thats a shame..the bit i used to go to was up the hill at grindleford then at the top the road turned to the left but there was a dust track straight ahead,this took you to the summit(i think) with some sort of mast there and an ordinance marker over the dry stone wall to the right.you could get out all over up there on the rig

Yep, the old Roman road up over the top. Used to be a 'lover's lane' now ruined by townies who think they own the place.

Go to the roaches you can camp at a small site along the bottom near hen cloud but go further along and park up near the tea shop you might be able to use them. You could also camp right at the top above the roaches themselves comming form Leek it is the next road on the left after the turn for the roaches themselves.
