The brickwerks one is the same as the original bar the material so totally workable on by your mechanic, JP is too, just I had a lot of issues and am passing on my experience, oh and the carp mild steel clamps that don't last 12 months I forgot to mention them

Had a JP exhaust on now for about 6 weeks. Good fitting service.

Runs and sounds fine but too early to say if it stays that way. At the time I looked into it nobody mentioned on here about exhaust clamps and other weaknesses

It's about 1 hours drive if I need to go back (which now seems more inevitable given the comments) so not too bad

Sounds pretty sweet! and pushes the van along at a much better rate of knots!

When my original (1988) exhaust started to become more and more holey I looked around and decided that patching was not the way forward. I was surprised how much even a full mild-steel system was (£400+). So, I went for it and had a S/S system fitted by Brickwerks themselves last month. The job ended up costing a more in labour than intended because of some (typical) broken studs. There is definitely an advantage of having the job done by someone who knows what they are doing because when things like broken studs occur they know how to sort it (engine came out to do it properly). In summary, excellent exhaust, good job, big bill but done for ever (hopefully)!

I'd second what Aidan said, I had one on an MV for a while from the same group buy. The big problem is they use sleeve joints which get badly deformed on assembly, so any further mods (such is to do a head gasket etc) lead to big problems getting the thing apart and together again and re-sealed properly.

The best aftermarket system I've seen by a long way is the one Baxter sells.

i can recommend baxters one, ended up with the rear section and the section from the cast joint that houses the probe. all bolted together easily and worked well, good quality stuff and can re reused and refitted with relative ease. you can also buy as you need, which is a plus in my book.

Brickwerks system now fitted, early days but looks and sounds well. The fitting kit does not include Studs which I thought was strange, I believe Brickwerks themselves use bolts when fitting these but I wanted to keep it original.
I'm still happy with my decision and maintain Simons is the best SS available but I wouldn't be telling the truth if I didn't mention that it wasn't a particularly straight fit but again I'm guessing no worse than any of the other options.

I was at brickwerks yesterday and Simon showed me the first set of early exhaust tubes he had made in stainless. He just needs to get them tested on a van before selling them on the shop. As yet he has not been told how much they will cost

What would you expect the warranty to be on an SS system.....if say something cracked or broke after 3 years?
or is even an SS system just 12 months?

i got a bargin getting mine from futbus...goodas new, could only have been on for a start up...looks great..sounds great...fitts great...suppose it is great

Both brickwerks and JP offer a lifetime guarantee for the owner who fits it (it ends when you sell the van)
