I wonder what people are putting in their van to need more grunt from their alternators? There is a lot of it about.

45A is sufficient for most scenarios.

that was going to be my next question..
..am I going to notice much difference?
I have 2 batteries, half decent sound system, a skytag and the usual smattering of lights. i find I sometimes have to top up either of the two batteries before we go away on holiday but I reckon thats down to lack of miles more than anything.
why did you go back to 45A, Kev?

I had three batteries and ran a TV ,DVD, head unit, Propex, lights, hair straighteners, and so on...
After a weekend camping the batteries were caned, but the 90A alt made no difference in the speed of charging them up.
I still had to charge them at home.
So I went back to it as it was a lot newer, and like I say it made no difference, it is cheaper to replace aswell
