Guys! It is an expression of speech merely referring to "it'll do 90mph if you want it to as oposed to 50 in an aircold".....
Anyhoo thanks for the heads up about the cameras and the toll charges
Last thing to sort out is somewhere to parkup - it might end up being a wing it job and find a quiet spot.....needs a bit of research

I parked up in Chamonix. To be honest, there was loads of places.
Nice campsite near Chamonix too.
Baxter put me onto them a while back....

I've not looked yet but any idea on the toll costs?
Check out this web site to work out toll costs from Calais to Chamonix.
http://www.autoroutes.fr/ I think the Michelin site does the same.
Have fun - jealous!!

Cheers Ringp/PetenAli One of the guys I'm going with came across the autoroutes.fr site and found that there are places to parkup last night... the trip is now looking like a real possibility and I'm starting to get a wee bit exicted! [url]

Were you thinking of heading to Doug?
Keep your eyes peeled for campsites that are open near the slopes when you go - in a few years thats going to be our holidays!

The basic plan is to get on snow that is as close to the UK (but not Scotland) as we can. So far were looking at somewhere in/around:-
* Chamonix Mont-Blanc
* Les Bios
* Les Chosalets
We're possibly going to take a jenny for power (if it's allowed to be used once there) as I suspect drying clothes is going to be needed..
Thanks for the link Nige...
This thread is providing much more info than I thought it would... thanks all

I use Viamichelin as well, remember that a van/camper/people carrier is class 2 so not the cheapest rate.
