so can i take this opportunity to ask about plans of more taste-full bullbars.
i was flirting with the idea of making up the brackets / attachment points underneath and then welding any old bullbar on top.
but if theres other plans to be had...

I don't like the tube bumpers and thought that these looked a better idea but it didn't suit the masses.
Just thought they were a better idea to watch

The thing with all this stuff is the sheer amount of iron that is a long way forward of the axle line on a T3. Great on your Landy with no front overhang, but he front dampers can't control this extra mass, never mind the trouble they seem to give at the bottom of a steep descent - look at that Delicia 4x4 clip on yooftube (or follow a Strange Rover with a tow hitch offroad)

ok, lets try this again, has anyone made their own bullbars? the ones on the samba site look cool but are way to heavy and as people have pointed out very ungainly. ive had an offer to come and draw someones bullbar connection plates but has any one used the actual bars of another vehicle? was wondering which bars would suit. theres a loads to choose of fleabay...

range rover and landy defender bars are flat (non wrap around sorts) and could be a possibility, wonder what the dimensions are. any defender / rangerover owners know? wonder how far apart those holes where the lights go, hmmmm.

General concensus is that any bullbars just help you plough a furrow at the bottom of a descent...

Unless they are on a SA Microbus in which case they are cool. Wish mine still had them on, they'd go well with the "Safari" brand dampers I kid you not.

thing is, i actually need bullbars, its not a styling thing.
its for when im in the woods trying not to collect trees.
also when we are pulling trees over, i hate pulling trees by towbar, i like to see whats going on and winching trees is ok sometimes, but its best to tie a rope on and give them a yank. you tend to get alot of front end slide when pulling a big tree down and it your front end gets dragged towards imoverable objects.
the only time they would get original use is when i drive thru the highlands at night, ive had some real close ones in the landy with 15+ herds of deer . and i dont have a long daft landy bonnet for prottection anymore.

I think the ones I have are off a suzuki or something. They have been made a couple of inches wider at each end. Great for bashing branches out of the way while on green lanes and nudging cars forward that have boxed you in

Aquired this one, all aluminium compared to a standard one it's quite light - no weight issues on the front end.

Crap picture, but you get the idea.
Good for deterring queue jumpers aswell.

suzuki eh? did you make the connection brackets up yourself? they do look the bis, dunno what suspension u have but ive got seikle + ome's and that heavy red block engine, so i rekon i actualy could do with mo weight up front.
