Red Westie - you can get a rafter bar to put a pitch in the awning so the rain runs off (about £15 from memory) but I do the same as you and put the legs at different heights.

Keep an eye out in the for sale forum - they do come up from time to time.

Which is the one to get?

I think they are both the same Cruz - just different colours.
I got it wrong. One is the old style that wraps over the folding arms and the other is a new style that fits in the slot on the front box

Sorry Kev. I thought you were making a lewd innuendo about slots and boxes  rather than me claiming an old product was new. The fiamma website said it was 'new style' not me

The rafter bar as you put it turns one single awning sheet into two seperate sections, both catching the rain....I've tried one. The only real way to gaurantee the awning doesn't catch rain and form a heavy puddle, is to slope one leg or lower both. I've tried all ways.

As for special tie downs...a guy rope tied to the top of each leg and set at 45 degrees does the trick. I also have a cheap £5 strap I bought from a tack shop that I position centrally over the awning when it gets windy.
