cheers titus..ive been having a play around with it yesterday(the heater ) and there really is nowt to em,is there.such a simple install,its just finding the right place in the van that dont compromise too much valuable space.

No probs.
I put mine where the rear heater sat with the duct going off to the left (looking forward), the intake and exhaust ports didn't foul anything.

The wiring is a fused supply from the LB.
I bought a metre of copper pipe (8mm), a couple of right angle fittings and a rigid to rubber pipe connector.
All fittings (including the propex iirc) came with olives so did not require flaring.

The gas bottle is located in the "wardrobe" cupboard.

Do you have any shots of the piping please?

Just looked at the fitting instructions http://www.propexheatsource.co.uk/pdf/X ... ctions.pdf

and it says the pipe fitting is 1/4" and comes with the appropriate olive. Sadly I don't have the olive so a call to propex may be in order

The white box on the rear of the Propex is just a junction box for the wiring. I utilised the redundant rear heater wiring rather than lay new wires.

So if I got a 1/4" to 8mm adaptorI can then use 8mm fittings.

I'm still unsure as to how using an olive means you can just use a straight piece of 8mm pipe. Does the olive tighten onto the o/d of the pipe as you tighten the fitting?

Yes olive type couplings you just tighten onto straight piping.

I am not sure why you need the 1/4 to 8 converter, I just used 8mm pipe to the propex.

Just done a quick revision on how compression fitting work

The X1 heater manual states it uses a 1/4" connection

No, the Propex gets its air from/through the holes in the RnR Box wall where the piping goes through.
The other thing you can see on the panel is a 240v mains socket.

Did you run the exhaust to the offside under the van?

Yes, it's the law over here. Don't want to burn anybody walking by and I don't want to fill my awning with exhaust fumes.

Can I recommend that if you install the gas pipe work yourself you get it checked out by a professional.
