Ok didn't realise that. Can you replace the Hall sensor?

Also, does that mean you can't test the coil the way I have as without connecting the coil to the Hall sensor in the distributor it won't spark anyway?

Hall sensor is connected to distributor. Leads come from hall sensor into the ignition module and then onto the coil.
The hall sensor can be replaced as mentioned in an earlier post.
I would also check the secure connection of cables on the bottom of the ignition module (black box screwed to side of engine bay on left side). Also check the connection going into the distributor. If you have it, I would also join together the two connectors plugged into the idle stabalisation unit, near the ignition module. Just unplug them both from the unit and plug them together (they are designed to do this).

expensive stuff .. you could try a second hand one from Billy 739 maybe

Thanks. Does anyone know if it is possible to test the Hall sensor to see if it is broken? I have a multimeter
