Just a bump as a few people have been asking about exhausts again

I'm now at the stage where I'm looking to buy a complete system for my 1.9DG, (although one part at a time as money allows lol), however, mine is a 1992 Syncro, so will there be any difference from the late 1.9DG exhaust for mine?

@Mr Baxter, any news from Denmark on those exhausts yet? I'm hoping I will be able to afford a complete system for my Syncro soon when the insurance pays out for my recent theft/damage.

So I've read that some people have fitted full VW Speed kits (currently £460 inc VAT). http://www.vwspeedshop.com/product.php?productid=16733The only bad comment is they're a bit loud (compared to..?)

Kombi Klassics (who have just done some work on our Harry) were telling me they've fitted a few of them and they're good. They are £90 more expensive though. And every little helps!

I fitted the VW speedshop stainless exhaust and I don`t find it loud ,ok it`s a bit louder than standard but not overly so.

Can`t help with the JK one sorry

Turns out Kombi Klassics have fitted the vwspeedshop ones as well and think they're good too. I've asked and they're both 304 stainless, not the best for resisting salt (halide corrosion cracking) but a darn sight better than carbon steel. So know what I'm doing for our next mot.

i must admit that i wasnt planning on fitting any supports ( to be honest I didnt know you could ! ) but I think when I order one I will get these as well.

Had our speedshop pipes fitted last week. Not at all too loud. Made a huge difference to the running (but they did some other stuff too)

i have a DG 1.9 petrol, on the down pipes for 1 and 3 it has 2 warm air pipes on it. What exactly do these do? And how do I get around the issue that all these stainless exhausts don't seem to have them?

The pipes are not needed.
The pipes are for extreme cold weather climates, to prevent carb icing.

Mine were junked several years ago

Well I wish I'd had known this earlier as I've been bodging the warm air pipes on for the last year as they always come loose.

Thanks for the reply! I think I'll treat the van to a stainless finally!
