Well I think you were pushing your luck and being a bit cheeky expecting them to honour free delivery...
I got a more rude reply from Bernd Jeager a few years ago when I dared to ask for a bit more info on a Syncro.. he will never get a single penny off me....

I have very good German and Austrian friends who are self-confessed Anglophiles, thankyou... (admittedly they are in love with the idea of what England once was and sadly no longer seems to be...)

They shouldn't have advertised it if they weren't prepared to do it.
Then they tried to charge me 19.90, quoting their shipping terms webpage, so I looked and it said it was 14.90 for UK! (my order was well under 6kg limit).
The whole process was a farce. They advertise services they don't ultimately offer (paypal/credit card payment, free shipping), they charge more than their stated rate for shipping, then they instantly get the arze when you (politely) point these things out to them!
I even sent them a screenshot of the checkout page showing the free delivery, and they cancelled my account completely so I couldn't even log in! Unbelievable.
I would have paid the postage if they had been polite about it, but they were rude, arrogant and dismissive so I refused to pay the higher rate on principal.
I've never known a UK company treat their customers with this attitude, and if they did I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole.

Yes it can be hard work and rather worrying in my case.
However I did get the bits in the end.
As I found the boost controller for my T25 unobtainable in the UK, having tried Simon and my local Bosch agent, I ordered a couple of extra ones which I will be shortly be offering for sale on ebay or with a 10% discount to club 80/90 members.
Look decent quality but it was a lot of trouble getting the stuff and I didn't like paying by transfer before shipment when they advertise Paypal on their website.
