Halfords have a sale on at the moment, this one looks the business at £40 down from £80.

For travel though I'm looking into one of those hi lift jacks mentioned in the wiki (less weight) to use with my 3 tonne axel stands, safer and are higher than the 2 tonne for only a fiver more and not that much heavier.

Sure will be nice not having to carry a bilson for the rear, scissors for the front, 3 blocks of wood and 2 half paving stones.

That Halfords jack has a max height of 520mm but the Screwfix one only goes to 345mm.

The Halfords one looks very good value and 'usable' because of the 52cm height lift which should be enought to actually get a wheel to clear the floor UNLIKE the other cheap jack options.

I bought one of these last time they were on offer.
Used it without problem on my T3, it also goes high enough to use on my current van.

Id like the axle stands too tho.... a block of wood is cheap and can add height

Hi,
I carry a 2.5tonne bottle jack for wheel change. Easy to store.
Also carry two small pieces of oak.One about the size of a brick the other piece about half that size.
Larger piece goes under the jack, small piece has shallow hole on one side to fit flange on top of the jack and vee groove on other side to fit under jacking point on the van. All stored at the back of a cupboard.
Stable enough to change a wheel and as safe as bottle jacks are.
I think the general advice now (from RAC etc.) is don't change a wheel yourself on a motorway.
Personally I would 'baulk' at the idea of calling out the RAC just to change a wheel but probably would if on a motorway.

For me, I need to work under the van at home

Bought the halfords pack at £39.99 worked fine with a little 3" block of wood for extra height. Came with axle stands and even a little trolley to lie on (I have a gravel drive tho )
Reckon its small enough to carry full time under the seat too which is well handy.
