mines had the tape on the lights since I bought it, slightly confused as i'm not sure if the tape is on it cause its a lhd so needs to be for over here, or the tape has been left since a trip back into Europe before i bought it - how do i know?
If the taped up bit is on the same side of the lens as the pavement then they are LHD lights and need to have the tape on over here. If the tape is on the other side then they are RHD lights and it's been done for Europe and you can take it off over here.

Great info and links! But I'm gonna save myself 8quid. Gaffa tap seems obvious, as all they do is stop the light travelling through a certain area of the lens (I think!

), so anything that will block light should do it.

The first mot my bus was a failure on beam path. I got beam benders off eBay and it passed. Since my bus is mainly in Germany I only need the benders for mot. I don't use benders anymore just black tape over the triangle area. Never had a problem. If you have your bus manual it even shows you where to stick the black tape.
Beam benders are a total waste of money.
