removing this a la Wiki article and getting the area treated and covered up (to shield from muck) is not a bad idea. While it's summer, getting these 'behind the underseal areas' dried out and anti-rusted and temporarily covered up, not a bad idea...
cheers guys, will have a good look at this. its only been in the UK for 3 years (australian) so its in a good way. but yes its not a matter to be casual about...
it going for a full waxoyl and check out as soon as the garage opens again.

Hi Guys, just wanting to jump on this thread quickly regarding Waxoyl. I want to get my van done (well hopefully the underside

) Can anyone recommend anyone in the south of UK. I live in Brighton and would like to get it done prior to the winter, that looks like it's already here!
Thanks in advance
Tom

I wouldn't say its the underside itself that suffers, its all the box sections, closed cross members etc...
Trouble is at a quick glance, underside looks surprisingly clean and rustfree... but some sections may be hiding extremely bad rust.
It's worth a deeper investigation and good cleanout before filling them with Waxoyl !
Just my opinion, not everyone's I might say.

Hi again-
back to the original quote, just looking at getting this area repaired (see pic, underside top of wheel arch)- will it be necessary to remove the fuel tank/breather tanks to get the fuel far away from the area before it needs to be grinded down, cleaned and welded up? seems like those damn breather tanks are in a silly place once again

is it too dangerous not to remove them?
thanks!
