I spoke to Walter at Glentarkie and the costs for 2 days in the mud and camping would be £50 per vehicle. The site is excellent with a good mix of non damaging and serious stuff. Availability is fine. Anytime we want. I suggest the weekend of the 28th August as it is a public holiday on the Monday (at least it is in England), other choices would be 21st August or the 1st of September. Before the 21st is too soon for me. If your interested email me at mud@aircooledcrazy.com with your preferred dates (in rank order). I take it we can cover everyone under the clubs insurance (public liability stuff I mean)? I haven't checked but I am guessing Glentarkie has its own insurances if not.

The weekend of the 28th August is the Devon greenlaning weekend. Althought thats probably not going to be a problem as I cant imagine many people traveling to Devon will also travel to Perth, with the possible exception of Doug and Simon.

That date or the following week is good with me.

No Syncronauts insurance only covers events actually organised by the Syncronauts. I imagine the site will have their own insurance anyway.

For the price you quote will you be getting exclusive use of the site? Unfortunately 28th August clashes with our event in Devon, so it would deter a few who would have come up for the event.

Yep plenty. SORC and SLRO are up there quite often.

I am a Syncronaut so can I not organise an event? You are right however the site will have insurance.

The site won't be exclusive but it won't be a problem. Huge site and I will make sure no other club events are planned. I know the price isn't ideal but it is a commercial site with a wash bay, toilets, club house etc. If I knew a friendly farmer I would have gone down that route. I know no-one will complain about the routes on offer. I have been up there a few times and had a few brown trouser moments myself.

Rob you can organise a private event, but you cannot organise a Syncronauts event as this has to be organised by the Syncronauts committee. We have to apply for a permit from the MSA and the application for the permit is quite stringent. The event has to be run under strict rules, with a clerk of course, secretary, stewards etc. Then after the event a report has to be returned to the MSA.

Hey Rob, You can count me in, depending on the weekend.
Should we keep Ceinwen and Syncronutz on call for that weekend like before. ( I am just getting in there first)
