Right vehicle, wrong expectations.

sit back and take it easy, they arent the fastest engine but the vans are superb. id get it serviced and take it from there. at the end of the day its a 2 ton+ camper van so your not gonna be flying along.

You have the same engine as mine does. As mentioned it should be able to hit 100kph flat out, mine will do 106kph according to the sat nav if I really push it as fast as it can go. You may be like me and are a little bit mechanically sympathetic, I rarely go past 80 -85kph as thats where the engine seems happy. I'm shortly going to be changing my gearbox for a DK 4 speed out of a petrol van, this will alter the gearing giving it a theroretical top speed of 140kph, although I doubt the 1.6 has the power to pull it that far. Long term, 1.9D is probably the most cost effective method of more acceleration but you will need to look at the gearbox if you want a higher top speed and so your not screaming the engine at 100kph.

No you've got it all wrong. Slow down to 50 and let them pass. No stress and better fuel economy.

Why? Just let them slow down or go round you. It's not like they're going to drive straight over the top of you, is it?

If the lorry cant overtake, due to middle lane hoggers, they love to sit 3mm up your rear (to try to make you go quicker).

So what? Just ignore them, they're not going to ram you.

So when the moron from the outside lane (BMWs) decides to cut accross 3 lanes as he has 20 feet to get off the exit, forcing you to brake.....

but the lorry is 3mm from your rear....

...now think about it a little, 44 tons v 2 tons bet the lorry is going to squash you like a fly

its dangerous driving, so why should anyone ignore that?
