Wooop!! The pump is working again!!
I took the wires off, cleaned them up and re-affixed them and Hey presto - we have pump action!! Had to suck the tap again to prime it (thankfully no one saw me!) but all is working again.

Watch this space though as I need to get a plug socket and a light working next so I'm sure I will have loads more questions!!!!!! lol
