High top all the way.
I would not want to be without mine,all that storage space,and a spacious double bed.
I also think they look better,but its all about personal taste at the end of the day.

I just don't buy that poptops are nice looking. I can see why having a tin top is good if impractical in the extreme but a big bit of plastic on your roof is a big bit of plastic whatever shape it takes. I also don't buy that they fall over easier unless you carry pig iron in your poptop. And factory hightops!?! Shockingly ugly things!! I'd still have one though

I reckon if you're camping for more than 48 hrs the amount of food,clothes,wind-breaks,deckchairs,toaster,sun-blinds,duvets,pillowsx4,towels,wash-gear,box of cds,dvd player,sleeping-bagsx2,fold-down table for 4,awning lights,bag of ikea nite-lights,2x boxes of toys,8x cuddly bears/frogs/rabbits and 4 toothbrushes make a high-top an absolute Tardis of a storage vessel!
But, hey if it was just the 2 of us my heart would be saying pop-top but my head would say high-top. Decisions,decisions but if you're not worried about street-cred and can rise above it all the high-tops got to be the choice!!!
In a perfect world we'd all have one of each type!

I seriously find pop tops more attractive than high tops, and having never had that extra storage, I can't miss it........

Get a Westy High Top.....if you're going to be doing any serious trips abroad....Tin tops and Pop tops are fine for weekends...but so's a car and a tent.
BTW you
can get into all carparks in a hightop....if there's a sufficient run up.

but then you have a tin top afterwards.
another vote for a hi top here. I wanted a pop top so I could get into car parks and Heather wanted a hi top for security. Once I realised that a pop top wouldn't go in car parks around here (most are 1,9m limit) there was nothing to stop us getting a hi top. With only the 2 of us the top has been boxed in for plenty of storage.

We have had both, hi-top very good storage and nice and warm with windows to look out off. Poptop looks better still can't get in carparks only got storage when roof is up no windows to look out of.

I got a HIGH TOP at the moment but fancy changing it to a poptop, I have been offered a solid side pop top. I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on whether I should. thanks ,

My solid sided poptop has windows and is as secure as a hightop, its down to what suits you.

ok westy hi tops are ok, but only because you can stand on the bog box, and lookout of sunroof window thing and pretend you are driving a tank!

having helped to remove and vandalise one of these rooves i would say don't bother, they are made by backing a 1/2 mm sheet of tin with 15mm polystyrene and on the inside 3mm ply adn lined with carpet. they are not particularly well made, but i'm more than confident that someone will be along to dissagree!! mho!!

Pop tops all the way I'm afraid! After seaching around for a camper for months on end, I decided that for me, Hi tops were just too far removed from what I had in my mind as a WV Camper (and they do resemble an ice cream van. Sorry all hi top owners, just my opinion). Mine has a hard sided pop, which I think is a great alternative.

I have been reading the mixed reviews for and aginst high tops and see the "pros and cons".
I have had high tops both T2 and T3 and have those who have issues with cross winds, I would suggest do what I have done and drop it 40mm with the AVO shocks and springs, and WOW you will notice the difference in stabilty and the ride.
Another bonus the kids dont have to reach up so far to get there ice creams.

If you have young kids and are forever stood over them strapping them in then hi top is good (i'm 6'2'') I think my plan is to have two wedges, a panel van with a tin top for looks and the current hi-top camper for camping and ferrying kids about
