I generally get about 24-25 mpg out of my 1.9 DG syncro doka.. on a run.. (ie several hours at 55-65 mph on the autoroutes)
24-26 from the 2.1 dj'd DG 2wd caravelle on a run (70-80 mph)

Worked our 2.1's mpg out - as best we could - the other day by noting down the mileage and litres at previous fill-up, and again at most recent. Ended up with 20.4mpg.
That's doing mostly local stop/start driving with occasional quick zaps up and down the motorway/dual carriageway.

My petrol guage is not very accurate and can show anything from three quarters full to touching cloth. I put £20 in if I'm going anywhere more than a few miles away - it never overfills or completely empities so, um, I dunno.

Thats sticking to 55, correct tyre pressures, no diesel leaks, well maintained engine etc.

I spoke to an ex splitter owner the other weekend
he was so happy with his early DG's fuel consumption, that he went overboard with his figures.
quoting it must be doing 30 to the gallon...
I didn't tell him different.
All heart I am

15, 20, 25, 45?
When it's £70 quid to fill up and you get less than £20 worth of fuel, even 100 mpg is not not enought to recoup the tax the robbi* bast*rd government take off us and don't even spend on the roads

28mpg combined town and 55mph motorway work on my H reg 2.1 dj WBX. That is being gentle on the pedal though, using the torque to get upto speed and timing breaking carefully all in an effort to extract the maximum mpg from her.
