Hey,

I think I may have developed something similar / not noticed this before on my van. I recently got the T25 1990 1.9 water cooled, DG. Iv driven it around town a bit and a few motorway journeys, but this evening it cut out at some traffic lights when I came to a stop, I had my clutch in as it came to a stop and it just cut out.

It did not exactly want to re-start easily and took a couple of goes. I then had to give it some gas to prevent it from cutting out again. If it was allowed to idle it cut out, so it made traffic lights fun.

Iv changed the expansion tank pipes, and the fuel filter was recently changed - but worryingly I think I can see two types of opaque liquid in the filer. Im tempted to take this one to the garage as I would like the van for next weekend but iv got to find one in Bristol first. Any ideas what the cause could be other than the carb or fuel?

Sounds like you have water in the system .... either a leaking filler neck, perished and holed breather pipe or a grommet out on the top of the tank.

hi doooogle
Sounds like you have a different problem. Mine only occured during warm-up after the auto choke opened fully. Once at normal run temp there was no more problem.
I have not solved my fault in spite of trying virtually all the excellent suggestions put forward this forum. Nothing I tried had any effect so the cause is elsewhere.
i have now given up on the DF and bought a complete DG which puts the van back to original specs.

Ian's comment re water in fuel system sounds your most likely cause - water and petrol don't mix so would show as 2 different liquids in the filter.
I am new to T25's so recommend you try these other suggestions from those who have more experience with these vehicles!

Good luck with this. perhaps you can report here the fix that works?
