What is the maximum length you could fit?

Presumably, if the poles fit to the ground it could go over the drivers door aswell and not block it?. The reason I ask is I have found one but its 3.6m long.......I suppose I could always have it hanging out the front and back....... :)

3.1 is longest that will fit, and it runs full length on a hightop. Yes, you can open the front door no problem. Mount it high enough to clear the door when rolled up.

eddie mines a pop top and works ok, you just have to take it off everytime which can be a bit of a pain.

Thanks Rich, That seems a bit of a pain esp trying to find a space in the van with kids in etc. :(

2.8 will fit inside. We bungy ours from hatch to driver's side against roof. Measure to see how it will fit.

you don't have to carry it inside , just fit a rail on the pop top to carry it outside, then fit another on the inside to use it when the roof is popped

Now that is very clever. :ok

Why didn't I think of that! Very tempting to get the 3.6m one then!! :)

I wouldn't... they sag... as the van/roof isn't entirely flat sided the middle will sag then you will need rafter poles... then water will pool on the roof

2.25 ideal or 2.55 max

Fitted awning rail to only gap it would fit in on the roof just under the poptop. Got a small problem........the poles rest on the passenger door (not the end of the world) but as it hangs over the sliding door, it's fine when its rolled away as you just lift it out the way to open/close sliding door. But when its out you can oper the sliding door but not shut it. Anyone successfully fitted one of these to a westy? :?
