The front part of the bed slides forward and rests on ledges either side of the hightop. There is about a two foot six gap left to allow anyone to get up/down. I can get up and down in a few seconds but then I'm not exacly massive.

On a high top and all pop tops there is access at all times for the obvious safety reasons.
pop tops can vary the access route some front, some middle, some rear, where as High tops usually have a shelf that pulls out (not on rails usually) and locks, giving access in the middle via the kitchen units.

Don't worry about getting up there Im 6ft and 16.5 stone and I can get up into our hi top when the bed is pulled out, although it is a leisuredrive roof and they are mahoooosive.

I am totally confused as to whether the ladder is a ladder or just a storage area restraint. (see underlined).

As you can see by this photo, in my case it acts as a restraint to stop the awning and other bits and pieces from flying about.



By the way - what do they mean by 'heavy braking'? I don't think mine has one of those! - perhaps it was an optional extra???
