which one, the merc seats or the interior colours? (or both!)

Van will be gun metal grey so I thought it would look nice.

I'm actually too cheap to buy any fabric and we've got shed loads of turqouise leather lying around (long story..)

Merc seats actually. The best seats you can get for a T3 are the 'Captains seats' which are a VW item. Why do you need rear discs? Get a good set of front brakes and you wont need rear discs. VW didnt fit them even with the 2.6 5 cylinder petrol engines they fitted in SA. Save your money!

Fit a good set of rear discs and you've got a good handbrake all the time. No more destroying the drums from drivng through mud, silt, grit and water.

Hmmm.... never had to adjust mine. Mind you, I dont use it too often. All will be revealed soon when I do a total brake and bearing refit. I might even regrease the CVs as well

Well, the next time you are local try driving through some serious grime and see how bad your handbrake works. Whaddon comes to mind! - Ate a brand new set of shoes and drums. Fitted the discs and 2 years later, still haven't had to touch the discs whereas the old geriatric version would've needed attention and adjustment loads of times.

I thought long and hard about the seats but after I had them hooked up I was glad I went with them.

They are much comfier than the captain seats and they're heated and working!! Not to mention the many ways I can adjust it so everything feels right.

Ripped the turquoise off the panels I'd already done as decided for red leather inside. Thought it would go better with the gun metal grey. Also decided to go with a black roof (using gel coat).

Also thinking of going a matt sandy color but still not convinced. Hate choosing colors, cant seem to make up my mind...

Kept my 1st T25 classic when I restored it so I hope for something a bit different for this one.

On another note, anyone know where to get a good spare wheel carrier for the rear to replace the current one which is rusted throughout?
