The ones I got from customandcommercial for approx £50 the pair were VW stamped handles and locks :ok

A quick phone call would determine if that is still the case

just come across this thread, sounds great as god knows where the previous owner put the keys for left side cab door, sliding door and the tailgate lock! would be good to re-key the barrels to fit the original keys.
just checking - how difficult is the job (i don't mind how long it will take :D ) ? would it be possible to get a little something on the wiki about it, or should i be able to work it out myself :wink:
cheers for your help

having read a couple more articles, i think i may be able to work it out :D
very good breakdown w/ pics here, even if it's not the same lock http://forum.georgiadubs.com/t2624-how- ... ion-switch" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

cheers!

having a bit of trouble (managed to do it fine with the tailgate lock) getting the sliding door locks to work.
Both of the barrels have jammed wafers in them (one just has one, the other has all of them completely stuck)
is there any way of getting these out, apart from soaking in wd40 and cleaning as much as possible which i've already tried?
also, if the jammed wafers are flush, should the lock turn?

i'm starting to think there is a problem with the mechanism that fits the end of the lock barrel inside the door handle
Image
is the arrowed part supposed to rotate with the lock barrel when fitted correctly?

thanks as always, from a grateful novice :D

on the cab door handles the barrel goes all the way through the lock handle

on the sliding door handle it does not , if your pic is sliding door then no it does not rotate , the pin on the end of the barrel does move a slider tho

if the plungers are level so the barrel is smooth then YES the barrel will turn. idea is they stick proud and lock into the grooves of the housing stooping rotation
