nevill3 - I say
WALK AWAY !! ( imho of course

)
That looks a right disaster area !!
You can do WAAAYYYYyy better than that for £2K
There a LOADS to choose from, be patient.
The very first rule of buying a T25 camper is don't rush in just because you are keen to get going with one.
The second rule is don't buy a rusty one !!
Honestly, take your time, look at 6 or 8 of them to see what variation there is in quality v price before buying one, the winter is here, you have plenty of time to find the "right one".

Have to agree with Ghost and Jed. Walk away - plenty of better examples out there. It'll be an unmitigated disaster behind that little lot!!

Thanks Guys, I was feeling that way myself

...I soooo wanted this one to be right, but I think I know deep down Rust is for life not just for Christmas!!
Well the search goes on......any one have a nice pop top (don't care what age just as long as its sound) for about 2K or maybe a PX with my Audi A4 avant thrown in with a lot of cash besides.....
I came, I saw, I ran away......

Your not going to get anything half decent for 2k unless you are really lucky. One bit of advice i would give is buy one from an enthusiast who has spent all the money on it as you never get back what you have spent on them so its best they spend away while you buy it from them.

Mine cost me £2000 and is a factory conversion, The seams are a bit ropey - as it the pop top - dont thing i got too bad a deal for the money but maybe would have walked away armed with the knowledge i've gained whilst being a member here. I agree with jed - but off someone whos put the work in becuause it wont just cost you money but a whole lot of your free time too!
bodywork looks better here than it is but it gives an idea

Thats the least of my financial problems with the van at the moment. That lot only cost £240 to get done. At the moment the van is at Syncronutz having a new 1.9td AAZ conversion and i have just bought a new turbo and pipes from Baxter and the gear box is heading down to Aiden for a recon

Although the westy only cost me £1600 i am expecting the final bill to stand at around £4k and i have probably done a grand on it already
I have said it before and i will say it again, No such thing as a cheap van
Looks fhooking awesome though

Thats a corker.

Keep an eye out on here and on the brickyard - my mate got his off of Volkszone. I could have saved myself a few bob if I'd known about this place. Oh eastfalia get some nice vans - mainly Westies tho.

Hi, I am going back tomorrow with my better half, we don't think this one is for us but a test drive and a good poke around while the sun is shining will help me recognise a good un when I see one later. After a lot of soul searching we have decided what we really want is a diesel because I will need to use it as my daily commute, either that or a 7 mile cycle ride ( up hill half the way, and here in Cumbria we have big hills). The pop top idea is for the same reason, just for practicality. I may be cheeky and offer a grand to take it off his hands but even then I was quoted £600 today to totally respray one side of a typical VW Bus including sorting out the usual rusty bits. My friends at a local body shop quoted that price without having seen it they have a nice Bay in there at the moment that is costing its owner 9K to refurb (engine upgrade included).
I will post back tomorrow when I get back.....

Final Update
My better half and I went today and she has agreed with all of you...Tooooo much rust and too much work...Oh well we still have a few months to get a new camper so I will just have to keep an eye on the vans on here. Thanks for all the links to other places selling VWs I had never heard of Gumtree but they seem to have quite a lot...I will be visiting that site often, most of the other sites seem to have the same vans and buses that can be found on here. I guess I just need to Chillax

and the right one will come along ......maybe Santa will bring me one
