Hello,
At work we regularly have to weld in keyways and pulleys. (major manufacturer of Agricultural machinery)
Ensure that the key ends are visible. Clean/degrease the components.
Clamp key firmly in position and confirm that the pulley fits.Mag weld (250 amps 32 volts 10.6 metres/min wire feed @1mm diameter) one spot at either end of key.
Remove any weld spatter on the shaft.
Robert is then your father's brother.
