Re: How to remove Autohomes pop top

I removed the old Autohomes & still have all the parts for it. Including roof cap, gas struts etc. The whole roof or individual parts are available to anyone that wants them. I looked at allsorts of new roof options. There is a place in Dorset that sells brand new roof caps at £1200 a throw & this does not include gas struts, seals or side panels etc. So a very pricey option. http://www.autovan.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; The best option if you decide on the hightop roof is timber technicians although I have seen a few secondhand ones on ebay for as little as £35. Remember if you buy a secondhand one though you may need to consider costs of a a respray & general tidying up. I much prefer the look of the pop tops & looked at loads of options. A good place for secondhand Westies is http://www.thebushaus.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; £500. I did see a few other types on ebay. However I was lucky enough to buy a Viking roof from a fellow club80-90 member. He bought the roof & then changed his mind as he's now currently building an electric Danbury type roof which I'm very interested to see the end product. I am in the process of fitting the new roof but the weather has delayed the work. Looking at January now before I'll fix it on properly. It's currently just sat on top.Let you know how tricky it is to fit once I've done it. The biggest problem I have so far is that the old roof hole is bigger than the steel angles that will edge the new roof. I've had to get 4x steel angles made to extend to fix onto my van roof. This should solve the problem
