Im running a AAZ in my single cab. It seems to be returning at least 38mpg on a run and about 34-5 localy. Its the bestengine ive had in a t25 regardless of syncro/2wd. I tend to drop my prop on along run and he cruses happily at 80+mph on the moteorway (not that i speed you understand

) Im in the process of swoping over from 185r14 road tyres to 31.5-15 BFG AT tyres so all of the obve may change shortly

31.5-15 BFG AT tyres
Jeeezzzus.... youre gonna need some serious modifications to make them fit!
What mods have you done for clearance issues?

sorry that should of been 31-10.5 15

Im running jeep rims, i cant remember the offset with out looking. The tyres will fit the front but the rears will need some clearencing of the trailing arms. once ive got the engine back together im going to look at it, possibly looking at making complete new units up, if i mod the oridginals there going to need about 1/2 inch out of the front end of the arms to clear the tread which isnt a big prop if the new outter edge is rebuilt from 4mm plate to put enough strenth back in

Will get some pics for you if i remember. im thinking of moding the oe ones to start with then making completly fresh ones when time allows as 16" arms arnt exactly easyto find

This is exactly the mod ive been tinking about, ive done it on a 2wd pick up to get a set of 20" merc amg rims on running 235/40/20

It works and is quick and easy, but when time allows i will make my own arms up that look good as well as being functional

be carefull you dont go too big i`m running 29" tyres with 10" wide on my 16" and they were as big as i dared go with out cutting the arches or clearing the rear arms.
you also need enough room between the rear arms and the tyres for mud build up unless ofcourse you are just using it on the road.
what engine and diff ratio are you running.

im notsure on the diffs, im running a 1.9 TD AAZ engine. Its also going to also have a 3" lift while its in so that should solve the arch clearance probs, as for mud build up think of it as a boot scraper and there for by the tme the tyres come back to the floor theve got more grip

If i brake i will make it stronger till its the best there is!

Be cautious with larger wheels, they can easily ruin the gearing and will cause clearance and geometry problems. I'd not go much larger than 28" on a 14" Syncro, without planning for additional mods. I don't think you can lift 3" without also having to take steps to bring the camber back to normal, eg. top ball-joint spacers, not sure what can be done at the rear. I put 20mm spacers onto my single cab and that brought the fronts to the limit of camber adjustment, the lift at the wheels was around 1".

+ 3" at the rear will strain the cv`s also.

as standard i would expect them to shatter the first time its driven

Were working on making a double jointed jobi simular to the front prop used when putting BIG lift kits on a landrover defender
