When we lived in the West country Shaftsbury tip used to sell stuff. I got loads of gear there. A friend of mine used to get stuff off them and do boot sales. The tip near my mothers house near Norwich used to sell stuff too. I went there recently though and everything has to be skipped.
Our tip in Heregord has notices of prosecution for theft and cameras everywhere, I have seen some amazing stuff thrown in there. There is a massive reclamation place just up the road and they say they would happily buy stuff on contract but the dutch company that runs the tip wont let anyone have anything.
Anyone know why this is?

The lidl charger will be OK static charging (van laid up over winter etc) but no good for camp charging. The reason being that it produces just over three amps so any higher discharge rate than this ie:(radio with a couple of lights) will both flatten the battery and cause the charger to work flat out to a point when the battery becomes fully discharged you could be running straight from the charger. If this happens the small lidl charger would either over heat or themally trip.
You need at least a 6amp charger for 'Camp charging' preferabley 8amps plus.

I never bother asking at my tip to have anything from them. They will always say no.

The reason : EU Health & Safety regs. If you took anything and injured yourself, you would have a claim against them. Hence I was going to try a shifty nick of the battery.

Depends. If the item hasn't touched the ground theres not much they can do. I was dumping wood a month back and just happened to see a guy about to dump what looked like a decent desktop PC. I literally stood in front of him, took it off him and said "don't dump that, my boy will recycle it!" - he was a bit stunned but I was away. Got it home and it just had a knackered processor fan and works fine. Year old at most! :ok
