You need plenty of the 5mm stuff as I found today when refitting tank. At least a metre and a half of that anyway, new tank all in (which Ronsrecord liberally painted with Hammerite) - no leaks and it started first time. Dare say Ronsrecord will be along later, but now he can fill tank to the brim without a whiff of fuel or a drip from underneath. Found that t-pieces would only go into new grommets with a smear of vaseline and you can only reach them from behind front wheels. You also need to undo filler pipe to get the flex needed to feed it in and slot tank into place.

Got my 5.5mm hose from Volksbolts - see their Ebay shop. Think Brickwerks do it too. Pic of why you need to change them fuel pipes attached - they split from the inside out...

I am one very, very happy man. Thank you CovKid!

Now then............has everyone checked their fuel lines and changed where necessary?

p.s. - loads of vaseline and get the cheap 5mm line from GSF, not the fancy braided stuff like i did. (and remember to ask for your 80-90 discount).

Has there not been occassions when GSF fuel pipes are the cheap chinese stuff that degrades after a week?
