Yes, just keep a check on yours, that the flat part of plastic outer is running about a good inch from the belt. It was grounding it at the back that caused the problem initially, so don't worry...
Has yours got the gear selector shaft protector tube on it... and is it attached to the offside prop underrun bar?

The tube is away from the belt.
The protective tube isn't on it at the moment, got taken off last time the gears wouldn't play the game, but yes it does attatch to the offisde slide bar via a small bracket.

Yes pain that tube can be, but have driven without the underrun bar and it hanging off the selector rod, round the block anyway.
Another re-fix is the gearchange down-push detent across to G-R, was fixed before Coney

Just hope I don't have to take the whole front selector rod out again - messy job wriggling it out and back in again.

You might get a clue from this picture. The water came in at the wheel arch step as I has the foot plate thing taken out and the holes were open. Also if the van was tilted the other way it would have been a very different story

Am I correct in thinkin--with a diesel--at some point in the crankshaft revoloution--there is a direct link from inside the cylinder via the inlet valve to the outside world--so if water got in the air intake- the engine would lock solid & wreck itsself?---

oh yes.. it had a good old work out at that event. Had to make a bit of an effort with all those Euro types watching..
> And before that custom LPG install too, eh Andy?

Diesel or petrol, if water gets down to and then past the air filter in sufficient quantities, it'll lock up.
The diesel Doka has a supposed weakness in the turbo being pretty low down and being chilled suddenly on full power, as well as the air intake being just a few inches above the top of the wheel arch, though both problems real imagined, can be mitigated one way or another.
