Im sorry Discodave for shooting you down again but calculating RMS power handing from a PMPO figure is not an exact science. It can be totally different from one manufacturer to another. I mean my 400 watt disco speakers have a PMPO rating of 1000 watts and the old set of 400 watt ones I got rid of had a PMPO rating of 600 watts. Its chalk and cheese. You need to check out the specs of that particular sub for the actual RMS power handling figure. Theres no point in guessing cause it will only end in tears and wasted money.

Ah ok thats cool. Didnt want to be patronising. I just wanted to elaborate to show others that all manufacturers arent the same and some will use PMPO ratings as a way to fool people into thinking speakers are more powerful than they actually are.
