Outney Meadow campsite in Bungay in Suffolk has a great carefree attitude and would have been worth the extra thirty mile trip there is a great common near by to run your dogs. Mary is the best host I have come across. You are a guest not income. She gets loads of VW visitors time after time and she knows your pitch.

Many UK campsites are run by numpties who dropped out of the Attila The Hun charm school. £45 for a night is plain robbery ! the nicest sites we stopped on on our European tour was £33 and that was all-singing, all-dancing AND in Switzerland which is supposed to be expensive !

i have made a few observations on the forestry comission, they run riding centre,s for mountainbiking that a re fantastic. i often go to the one in thetford forest as it is the closest. in my opinion it has the most basic of mtb riding compared to others i have been to in wales. now in wales you can turn up and pay £3.50 for a days parking, go and ride you boobies off and get back to the cafe where they do baked spuds for a reasonable price. all good.
go to thetford and the car parking is twice the price and all the food is horrid greasy stuff you do not want to eat after a nice healthy bike ride, it also costs a fortune. but the place is packed. i reckon they charge you as much as they can get away with, the best thing to do is stay away. we park for free at brandon lodge and ride the trails anyway.
