Im not brilliant at it fella. Just thought i'd give it a go.

Big bag of pencils, rules, set square, and sandpaper.

Measured and drawn everything, then jigsawed it out. Lots of sanding and checking...

That looks brilliant. Gonna be stripping mine out over the winter, so its good to see it is "doable" esp if as you say you just "gave it a go" which is what I will be doing (jigsaw at ready - stand back ) I have a mate who is a carpenter said he will give me some tips if I get stuck....

ok, another quick update.

The worktop was shaped and test fitted... and some small adjustments were made.



Sink, hob and tap are test fitted.




More fine tuning of the worktop before routering a nice round edge to it, and wrapping it with black granite fablon.

I cheated a little and used a heat gun to gain the stretch and shrinking I needed over the corners.




next is the doors for the cupboards, and a touch more wiring for some other bits i've decided to add..

Just one thing, if you are putting fablon on the work surface, how about fixing a piece of wood, stainless steel or one of these types of trivets...



You could attach one end to the wall side of the worktop and pull it out when you need and push it closed when you want more prep room. You can just bet that either you would forget to bring one or that when you've got a hot pan you won't be able to find it quickly.

Im making a cutting boad that will be recessed so it can be used as a sink cover too.

Will get some pics of that up when I find a decent wood to make it from. Im not the best at communicating what im trying to do.

For a pull-out worktop, B&Q do some excellent runners similar to those used for PC desk keyboard pull-out shelves only heavy duty. Fitted one into my homebrew unit and it clicks nicely shut so it can't slide out when you're cornering at 45 degrees

Just spent all day making a small single drawer for the cutlery. I'll get a photo up shortly...

however just something i thought i would sugget, when all the interior was out did you waxoly the cavaties, the void above the jacking point and the floor in the gap behind the fridge?

considering the work you have done for the extra £20 for waxoyl if you havent yet i would advise you do it.

i have done all mine , as a long term thing. i have actually sprayed and pored the wax in so its 1/2 inch dep in some places.

i found over the years that these vans actually leak through the seams! add this to the condensation caused by living in it /using it and it all adds up to a fair amount of moisture.

just a though with some friendly advice.

I have indeed chief, i used the big tins of the spray on waxoyl! and my god that stuff gets everywhere!

Once its all done and running, im getting it up on the ramps and undersealing it.

I appreciate the heads up though
